Hudson Sandy Beach (early 1960s)

Hudson Sandy Beach (early 1960s)

This picture was taken on a Sunday morning in July in the early 1960s.  Notice the width and length of the beach when compared to today.  In the 1930s, '40s and 50s, the beach went around the bend in the road and extended to the point where the old beach road now meets the trail coming from the west.  Old-time residents will also recall the large rock at approximately mid-beach.  This rock was removed in the 1970s by the then owner who apparently could not appreciate its presence.  It can be seen in the middle left of the picture with someone leaning against it.  [MWP]
