Museum reopens/musee ouvre de nouveau!

(texte francais suit) We are happy to report that the Hudson Historical Society Museum will be 

able to open again. After a basement flood and cleanup an air quality test was necessary to assure the safety of our volunteers and visitors. 
Thanks to the Town of Hudson administration and Public Works dept the issues were dealt with in a proper and professional manner.  We are in the process of hiring a summer student, thanks to a grant from the Federal Gov't and thus we will be offering opening hours 5 days a week  for the summer period.

David's presentation will focus on the Enigma machine, a device invented and used to encrypt the most secret communications in Hitler's Germany.

David R. O'Keefe is a historian, professor of history, television presenter, documentarian, creator, host, writer, producer and best-selling author and a local resident as well.

 (texte francais suit) St-James Church, 642 Main, Hudson Qc.   Hope you all had a wonderful summer season. The Hudson Historical Society will be kicking off the 2018-2019 season with a very interesting talk by Mike Reid about the Camp Anderson Scout camp in Rigaud. 

To continue with the history started at the end of last season with the presentation on Camp Ewing, this season's first session picks up with the same camp becoming the property of the Boy Scouts of Canada as Camp Anderson.

Heather will be taking us on a personal journey of discovery on how Camp Ewing to be named after her grandfather, William Ewing. Many of you may know of Camp Ewing by another name, Camp Anderson and/or more recently as Hudson Club.

Heather will detail us on William Ewing's connection to the Navy League and the camp itself.
